Campaign Funds: EFCC Summons 18 Edo PDP LGA Chairmen
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has summoned the 18 local government chairmen of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) over allegations that they shared from over N700 million of the Diezani campaign funds.
The summoning of the 18 local government chairmen of the party a source disclosed to our correspondent is based on a confessional statement by a chieftain of the party, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, that the campaign fund he received was distributed to the affected chairmen.
Ize-Iyamu, a governorship aspirant of the PDP in Edo State, was recently quizzed by the EFCC for allegedly collecting some dubious campaign funds from former petroleum minister, Mrs. Diezani Allison-Madueke.

The source revealed that the invitation of the council chairmen is to verify how much each of them got before the commission would move to the next level of whether to arraign Ize-Iyamu or compel him to refund part of the money as others were doing.
