FIFA Ranking: Nigeria Remain 53rd

The latest FIFA rankings released on Thursday 3rd September 2015, saw no changes to the Super Eagles position, as they remained 53rd in the world.

However, the African giants had a slight drop in total points, which is now 599 as against 601 for last month.

Their unchanged position in the world stage did not reflect in the African rankings, as the Super Eagles climbed one place from ninth to eight, which saw Cape Verde drop to 10th place on the continent.

The Super Eagles non-improvement in this ranking is said to be attributed to their lack of international games in August, which was the month under review.

In the continent of Africa, Algeria maintained top spot as the number one team, While Cote d’Ivoire and Ghana came 2nd and 3rd respectively.

Meanwhile, Argentina remained the number team in the world, followed by Belgium, Germany, Colombia and Brazil, as the top five teams in the world respectively.
