Nigeria vs Serbia: Mitrovic Double Sinks Super Eagles

Aleksandar Mitrovic scored twice as Serbia defeated Nigeria 2-0 in an international friendly game on Tuesday night at the Hive, Barnet FC Stadium, London.

In a very competitive game, the striker, who is currently on loan at Fulham from Newcastle, scored two second half goals to hand Gernot Rohr’s side their second defeat since 2016.

After a goalless first half, the Serbs came into the second half with more composure, piling pressure on the Super Eagles.

Mitrovic, who had a goal dissalowed in the first half, found the back of the net in the 68th minute after a fine move from the Serbs, to put his side ahead.

The striker doubled their advantage in the 81st minute to put the game beyond reach for the West Africans.

The Super Eagles had last Friday defeated Poland 1-0 at the Municipal Stadium, Wroclaw.
