PDP Fixes April 23 For National Convention

**Modu Sheriff To Vacate Office May 21

The National Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has fixed April 23 through May 21 2016 for its national convention to elect new principal officers.

The Committee also fixed May 21 as the exit date for the party’s national chairman, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff and other members of its National Working Committee.

In the communiqué signed and issued by Sheriff and the party’s National Secretary, Prof. Wale Oladipo after the party’s NEC meeting, which was held at its national secretariat at Abuja on Monday, Sheriff said that the convention will hold in Port Harcourt, adding that that the NEC approved the timetable for the party’s congresses.

Sheriff said, “The NEC of the PDP in its 69th meeting deliberated on critical issues as they relate to the party and the nation, and resolved as follows:

“NEC approved the time-table for the party’s congresses and national convention. Congresses commence on Saturday, April 23, 2016 and culminate in the national convention on Saturday, May 21, 2016.

“NEC approved the party’s guidelines for congresses and the national convention. National convention holds in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.”
