Presidency Slams Atiku Over Claim Buhari ‘Banned From America’

The Presidency has reacted to the claim by former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, that President Muhammadu Buhari was “banned from entering America” over his alleged Islamisation agenda.

“For about 15 years, Buhari could not enter America on account of religious considerations,” Atiku had told Dele Momodu’s Boss Newspaper while responding to questions as to why he (Atiku) ran “away from the US”.

The former Vice President had equally said, “It is the sole prerogative of America to determine who they want in their country or not.

“I’m not running away from America. I applied, but wasn’t issued a visa,” added the former Vice President.

But reacting to the statement credited to Atiku, the Presidency said the former Vice President’s claim exists only in the figment of his imagination.

“The claim by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, in an interview published today, that “for about 15 years, Buhari could not enter America on account of religious considerations” is FALSE,” tweeted the Presidency.

“At no time was President Muhammadu Buhari ever forbidden from entering any country in the world.

“This fiction being passed off as truth is mind-boggling, coming from a former Vice President of Nigeria, who should know the truth. If the former Vice President has issues to settle with American authorities, he should do so, instead of clutching at straws.

“At no time was President Buhari, as a private person, ever forbidden from entering any country in the world. The world has always held President Buhari to be a man of sterling qualities.

“The ‘banned from America’ claim by former VP Atiku is FICTION, existing only in his imagination.”
