China manned Space Engineering Office said that the project was first of its kind in the country.

State broadcaster, CCTV reported that the space craft (Long March-5B carrier rocket) took off at the Wenchang Space Launch Center in Hainan, China, on Tuesday.

According to Reuters, China aims to complete a multi-module, inhabited space station around 2022 and has since been racing to catch up with Russia and the United States to become a major space power by 2030.

Donald Trump, while launching the U.S Space force in December 2019, stressed that he would make the nation’s military the best by far.
