The Supreme Court has temporarily deferred the Imo judgement review to a later time today.

The Chief Justice of Nigeria, Tanko Muhammad, postponed the judgement during hearing on the matter.

Ihedioha’s counsel, Kanu Agabi, is asking the court to set aside its earlier judgement.

He argued that Uzodimna and the All Progressives Congress (APC) had called the Imo governorship election invalid, claiming that they even called for a fresh poll.

But Uzodimna’s lawyer, Damian Dodo, asked the court to dismiss the applications for lacking in merit.

He argued that the Supreme Court judgement was a ‘tsunami’, adding that it overruled every order of the lower courts.

“My Lord, we urge your lordships to take particular note that the judgment on February 14, practically set aside the decision of the lower court in all its ramifications,” Dodo said.

Dodo said that the judgment of the Supreme court was clear and unambiguous.

“We urge that our preliminary objections be sustained,” Dodo said.

But Agabi prayed the court to dismiss the preliminary objections of Hope Uzodimna’s counsel, adding that the Supreme Court can still set aside its judgment.
