Tension In Community After Gunmen Kill Female POS Operator In Port Harcourt

Unknown gunmen on Sunday night, reportedly shot and killed a female POS operator (Name withheld) along GVC Road in the Aleto axis of Eleme Local Government Area.

The attackers reportedly left with the cash after killing their victim.

Alex Nwosu, a relative of the victim, said the attackers may be cultists.

He said the incident caused pandemonium in the area.

Nwosu also lamented that insecurity in the area has been on the rise for while.

“I called on all political youth presidents in Aleto to act fast concerning security to save GVC residents,” he appealed.

Meanwhile, the remains of the deceased was deposited at a morgue in the area shortly after the incident.

When contacted, Spokesperson of the Rivers State Police Command, SP Nnamdi Omoni, confirmed the attack.

“I was briefed about the attack this morning and the Eleme division are on thorough investigation to apprehend the culprits and bring them to book.”
