U.S: Turkeys Awaiting Trump’s Pardon Lodged In N70,00 Hotel Room

Two turkeys named Bread and Butter that are billed to receive presidential pardons have been lodged in The Willard hotel in Washington, D.C.

The lucky birds were checked into the 5-star hotel room consisting of luxurious 450sqft 2 queen bed charged at the rate of $193.03( N71,410) per night.

What the presidential pardoning of the turkey is about?

The presidential pardoning of a turkey is an annual Thanksgiving tradition in the US.

According to the White House, President Abraham Lincoln pardoned the first turkey in 1863. But in 1987 President Ronald Reagan officially  pardoned  a turkey and the process was formalized by President George H. Bush in 1989.

This year, Bread and Butter will be pardoned by President Donald Trump in an official ceremony scheduled to take place on Thursday, November 28.

According to the White House the turkeys will make the journey to their new home at Virginia Tech’s “Gobblers Rest” exhibit in Blacksburg, Virginia after they are pardoned by the president.
