VIDEO: Bello Speaks On Failed Attempt To Recall Sen. Dino Melaye

Kogi State governor, Yahaya Bello, has reacted to the development involving Senator from Kogi West, Dino Melaye, in the hands of the Nigerian police.

Speaking in an interview on Sunday, Bello said he was aware of that the security operatives were carrying out their lawful duties.

“I read it in the news and watch it on television as law enforcement agencies are carrying out their normal lawful duties and that is all I can say about that,” Bello said.

Melaye is currently under investigation by the Nigeria Police Force, for alleged arms smuggling.

He reportedly jumped down from a police van in Abuja, while being transported to Lokoja, the Kogi State capital.

Speaking further, the governor stated that the lauded President Muhammadu Buhari for his “purposeful” leadership, adding that the members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, were determined to support the president.

“As for the party, we have a strong and purposeful leader in the person of President Muhammadu Buhari who is giving us leadership and direction and every one of us in APC will align with him one hundred percent,” he said.
