Nigerian singer-songwriter and record producer Innocent Idibia popularly known as 2Baba has insisted on the planned nationwide protest slated for Monday February 6, 2017.

The revered pop icon made this disclosure via Facebook Live on Tuesday afternoon, noting that the peaceful protest is to demand that the government connect with all Nigerians.

The 11-minute long statement reads in part: “I will no longer be quiet. I’m just a musician with a point of view and the ear of my fans. I have dedicated my time and resources to peace building, voter education towards peaceful elections and youth engagement in governance in Nigeria. This march is about demanding that our leaders connect with all the people of Nigeria.”

Mr. Idibia last Monday took to his Instagram page to lend his voice to a movement, calling for a nationwide protest against the “unfavourable economic policies of the Federal Government”.

Meanwhie, the planned action, which was initially slated for Sunday, February 5, 2017, was shifted to Monday, February 6, as it will coincide with the date President Buhari will resume work.
