Yoruba Nation Group Accuses FG Of Paying For Pro-Buhari Protest At UN

The Nigerian Indigenous Nationalities Alliance for Self-Determination has accused the Federal Government of Nigeria of paying black residents in the United States $500 each to stage a protest in support of President Muhammadu Buhari in New York on Friday.

The Chairman of NINAS, Prof Banji Akintoye, who said this in a statement made available to THE WHISTLER on Thursday said the pro- Buhari protesters had also been instructed to be supporting One Nigeria.

NINAS’ members who started their protest on September 14 opposite the United Nations headquarters in New York said its one million-man freedom march would hold on Friday, the day Buhari will be addressing the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

Akintoye said agents of Nigeria Government were already in the US and had started paying non-Nigerians to march in support of Buhari to hide the realities on ground back at home.

NINAS is demanding for the conduct of a regional referendum so that the indigenous people can decide wether they want separate nations or still want to be part of Nigeria.

The group also described the 1999 Constitution of Nigeria as a fraud against the people of the South and Middle-Belt, saying, it was enacted without the consent of the people.

The statement read, “Irrespestive of the material and financial superiorities of these ‘lions’, there’s no way they can defeat united ‘foxes’ in a democracy.

“The Friday grand march in New York shall be historic, hence, the Nigerian government is jittery. The ring leader of government officials from Kwara State and a top Lagos journalist are now in New York to start hiring black people who will pretend as Nigerians to stage a Pro-Buhari and One Nigeria protest to counter NINAS on Friday.

“But we refuse to be rattled. We shall not be intimidated. No Oppressor has ever triumphed against the collective will of the people. The people are the government and power belongs to the people.

“The people make the constitution. The sovereignty belongs to the people. Our own strenght lies in the hands of the people. Therefore, our march shall be people’s centered. It shall be peaceful as usual.

“All the people of the South and Middle-Belt in United States and Canada are urged to troop out in their large number to be present on Friday 24th September 2021 opposite the United Nations Headquaters in New York as we demonstrate and expose before the world, the rape of our ancestral land and hijack of our assets and sovereignty by the Fulani-Controlled Nigerian Government.

“I salute the Nigerian mainstream media and international media that have been covering the march to remain resolute and stand by the truth.”
