Some residents had told THE WHISTLER late on Wednesday that the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, had visited the scene to see the mystery himself and to sympathise with the families of those who lost their lives when the tree fell on Monday night.

Some traders at the Sabo Market in Oyo where the incident happened were said to be taking shelter under the tree when the wind uprooted the big tree and crushed no fewer than four to death.

Some of those injured by the fallen trees were said to still be receiving treatment in hospital when the news filtered to town that the tree which fell and injured then had risen again.

In the photos posted on Monday after the incident, the tree which was seen uprooted from one side was lying and after which its branches were cut off leaving only the truck.

However, the trunk of the tree, although without the leaves and branches could be seen standing again in a new set of photographs.

The spokesman for the Alaafin, Mr Bode Durojaye, confirmed the strange happening.

He said the monarch had also visited the scene to see the wonder.
