3 Infants Among 108 Stranded Nigerians Repatriated From Niger Republic

The International Organisation for Migration (IOM) has facilitated the return of 108 Nigerians who were stranded in Niger Republic.

This was made known in a post shared through the official X page of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).

According to NEMA, the 108 returnees arrived in Nigeria on a chartered flight with registration number TZ – SMA, provided by Sky Mali.

NEMA noted that the group of returnees comprised 29 adult females, 32 adult males, 44 children, and 3 infants, all of whom landed at the Cargo Wing of Murtala Muhammad International Airport, Ikeja, at approximately 1850 hours.

Upon their arrival, a collaborative effort was made as various agencies including NEMA, the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), Refugee Commission, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), and the Police, were present at the airport to receive and assist the returnee.

“The International Organisation for Migration (IOM) has successfully brought back 108 stranded Nigerians from Niger Republic. They were transported on a chartered flight with registration number TZ – SMA, provided by Sky Mali.

“This group of returnees consisted of 29 adult females, 32 adult males, 44 children, and 3 infants. They arrived at the Cargo Wing of Murtala Muhammad International Airport, Ikeja, at around 1850 hours.

“Several agencies, including NEMA, NAPTIP, Refugee Commission, FAAN, and the Police, were present at the airport to receive these returnees,” the post read.
