Abia Govt To Partner Chinese Company On Construction Of Light Rail Project

The Abia State Governor Dr Alex Otti, says plans are underway for the construction of a Light Rail Transit system across the state.

Governor Otti in an interview with the Channels TV said the ambitious project aims to improve transportation infrastructure, reduce traffic congestion, and promote economic growth in the region.

According to Otti, the proposed light rail network will connect major cities and towns within Abia State, providing a fast, efficient, and eco-friendly mode of transportation for residents and visitors alike.

The governor revealed that the state government is partnering with a Chinese construction company to bring this project to fruition.

He said, “Currently, the project is in the design stage, and further details about the project timeline, funding, and specific routes are expected to be released as the plans progress.”

“The introduction of a Light Rail Transit system in Abia State is expected to have a significant impact on the local economy, as it will create new job opportunities, attract investment, and stimulate growth in various sectors.
