ABU Terminates Contract With Visiting Lecturers, Others

The management of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria has terminated the appointment of all contract, visiting and month-to-month staff.

This was disclosed in a statement dated June 11, published on theabusite.com, on Tuesday.

“The management regrets to inform all staff members on contract, visiting and month-to-month appointments that their appointments are hereby terminated.

“One month notice of termination of appointment is hereby given with effects from 15th June 2020,” the school stated.

The school did not disclose why the appointment were terminated.

However, unconfirmed reports claim it may not be unconnected to the matters between the federal government and the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).
