Anambra Police Seize Weapons As Sibling Rivalry Leads To Shooting

The Anambra Police Command has responded to a gunshot incident in the Ukwulu area of the state involving two siblings.

A statement signed by the command’s spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, on Sunday, revealed that a feud between two brothers deteriorated into a violent situation.

“Preliminary investigations revealed that both the victim and the armed suspect who sought the assistance of another, are brothers and have been having a serious misunderstanding,” the police revealed.

Police operatives attached to the Special Anti-Cultism Squad Enugu-Ukwu responded to the incident on Saturday.

Ikenga said the operatives arrived during a “shooting incident in Ukwulu and prevented the situation from escalating further”.

The operatives, according to the police, rescued “a victim with a gunshot injury, recovered one AK47 rifle, one pistol, and six rounds of live ammunition.”
