The party was responding to question on the defection of Obaseki.

The Edo governor had some hours ago, announced his defection from the party, after meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Aso Rock villa.

Obaseki’s defection comes on the heels of his disqualification from contesting in the Edo governorship primaries by the party’s screening committee on Friday last week, over allegation of discrepancies in the governor’s academic certificates.

The APC statement reads “The party has no record of the reported defection of Governor Godwin Obaseki from the Progressive party.
