President Bola Tinubu, who sits as Chairman of the Authority of the Heads of State and Government of ECOWAS, said the bloc addressed pressing developments in the subregion and the political situation in Niger, Burkina Faso and Mali.

He urged his counterparts to approach the issues with a sense of unity and commitment to the well being of the people and that the complexities of the issues at hand necessitate a comprehensive and collaborative approach.

“Accordingly, it is incumbent upon us to engage in constructive dialogue, exercise prudent judgement and work collectively to find solutions to foster peace, security and political stability in our region,” Tinubu said.

The junta in the respective countries held sway after ousting their presidents.
