Buhari Shifts Meeting With Kachikwu To Friday

There are indications that President Muhammadu Buhari may have shifted his meeting with the Minister of State for Petroleum, Ibe Kachikwu, to Friday and not today (Thursday) as was earlier reported.

Online newspaper, Premium Times, quoting unnamed presidency official said the meeting will now hold on Friday after a review of the president’s official schedule.

Kachiwku had ignited a national storm after a leaked letter to the president revealed acts of insubordination and alleged corruption by the Group Managing Director of the NNPC, Maikanti Baru.

The minister had alleged that Baru had bypassed the NNPC, which he is chairman, to award contracts in excess of $25billion about N9 trillion as well as make appointments without due process.

Kachikwu also in the leaked letter alleged that he has made several efforts to see the president without any success, while the NNPC boss has unfettered access to the president.

The meeting is expected to address the concerns even as the Senate has constituted a panel to investigate the allegations.
