Following a shocking incident on March 1, 2026, in Ahoada, Rivers State, where a young girl, Ogadinma Minnie, was reportedly assaulted by the local government chairman for raising concerns about the dilapidated state of a public school in the community, international music star Burna Boy has pledged to fund the school’s rehabilitation.
The incident sparked outrage across social media and led to calls for immediate action to improve educational facilities in the area. In a previous video, a community activist and philanthropist had promised that if the local government failed to act, their NGO would step in to address the issue.
The affected school, located in Odiokwu — the hometown of the council chairman — is said to be the only secondary school in the community.
The town is also home to the member representing Ahoada West/Ogba Egbema–Ndoni Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Victor Obuzor.
Community members described the school as being in a “sorry state,” with dilapidated structures and unsafe learning conditions.
However, following the post made by very dark man said, Burna Boy, who hails from Ahoada, reportedly contacted him directly, expressing concern over the community’s plight. Sources indicate that Burna Boy insisted the NGO should not fund the project,
The activist, describing themselves as a “houseboy to the masses,” immediately booked a flight to Port Harcourt and confirmed that preparations are underway for the school renovation.
