Failure Not An Option, Moro Says As He Promises To Complete Mark’s Projects

The Senator representing Benue South Senatorial District at the Senate, Abba Moro has said he will see to the completion of all the ongoing projects of his predecessor, Senator David Mark.

Moro disclosed this during a reception in his honour at the residence of Sen Mark in Apo, Abuja after his inauguration into the ninth Senate.

The Senator who was overwhelmed by the turnout of the people of Benue South for him thanked them for coming, and promised to consolidate on the gains of Mark.

He said “few hours ago I took the oath of office to be a senator to represent the good people of Benue south. I am aware of projects Sen. Mark initiated which are yet to be completed and I shall ensure I see to the completion of them. As his ardent follower, I know where he wants to take Idoma nation to, I have the experience and exposure to take Idoma nation there.”

According to him “failure is not an option in this task. I Am committed to ensuring an egalitarian society where things will work for everybody irrespective of political affiliation.”

He therefore urged the good people of Benue south to join hands with him to work together for the good of Benue south.

Earlier, the state chairman of People’s Democratic Party(PDP), Sir John Ojehochekwotu Ngbede in his welcome address thanked the good people of Benue south for coming and pleaded with the people of Benue south to allow Senator Abba Moro to settle down to work to uplift the senatorial district.

He prayed for God’s blessings and guidance on Senator Abba Moro as he represent his people at the senate.

Ngbede therefore called on the senator to endeavour to unite all PDP members in Zone C.

The reception ceremony had in attendance the former Senate President and the erstwhile Senator for Benue south, Sen. David Mark, Benue PDP Chairman, Hon John Ngbede, all the members of the Benue state House of Assembly from Benue south, top politicians across party lines, captains of industries and top officials of the state government.

Moro, born on July 3, 1956 hails from Okpokwu Local Government Area is former minister of Interior as well as former council boss.

He had his primary education at LGEA special Primary School, Odessassa, between 1963 and 1969. He later attended Emmanuel Secondary School at Ugbokolo, Okpokwu from 1969 to 1974 before he proceeded to Federal Government College, Kano where he obtained a Higher School Certificate (HSC) in 1975. He proceeded to the University of Lagos where he obtained a Bachelor of Science (B. Sc) degree in political science and Master of Science (M. sc) degree in Public administration in 1980 and 1983 respectively.

Moro contested and won the Benue South Senatorial election on the platform of the PDP in February 28 this year defeating his main challenger, Steven Lawani of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
