FG Plans Production Of Personal Protective Equipment

The federal government says it is planning domestic production of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in the country order to guard against contracting Coronavirus (COVID) by health workers.

Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire, stated this when he appeared live on NTANEWSNOW to discuss the topic “Strengthening Health Systems.”

Ehanire stated that the country was in the community transmission phase of COVID-19, which requires a totally different approach.

He also said the ministry of health is now formulating a National Response Action Plan to address this Community Transmission phase.

“The @Fmohnigeria is now formulating a National Response Action Plan to address this Community Transmission phase & have brought in other agencies to assist in the response activities.

“We have gone through the prototypes & are ramping up  conversation for domestic production of PPE, ” he said.

According to him, the major challenges in COVID-19 response are limited bed spaces in isolation and treatment centres.
