A neighbour of the deceased who pleaded anonymity, stated that they found the 300-level student of Department of Economics in the pool of her blood after being stabbed by unknown person.

The police in the state has however disclosed that the ‘unknown’ person was Sanni who allegedly stabbed his victim to death and stole her iPhone XR.

Ondo police commissioner, Abayomi Peter Oladipo, who spoke while parading some suspects, said the police discovered that the deceased phone was missing after the murder.

Abayomi stated that the police through the use of modern technology traced the phone to 21-year-old Sanni who is also a neighbour to the deceased in the hostel.

He said: “The recovered phone led to further questioning of the suspect who gave details of what happened in his confessional statement.”
