FUTA Deputy Registrar Shot Dead In Osun

Some unidentified gunmen have reportedly killed the Deputy Registrar, Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA), Ondo State, Dr Amos Arijesuyo, after an attempt to ambush a vehicle conveying him to Osun State

The incident was said to have happened on Saturday evening at Iwaraja area of Ilesa-Akure highway while Arijesuyo and others were en route Osun from Ibadan.

According to reports, a bullet targeted at the tyres of the vehicle had hit the leg of the deceased. He was said to be sitting at the passengers’ seat in front.

Despite attempts by the driver to avert the ambush, the kidnappers shot repeatedly at the vehicle, causing more bullet injuries on the registrar, reports Vanguard.

The academic, however, did not survive as he died before he could get to the hospital for medical attention.

The driver is said to be receiving medical attention in an undisclosed hospital.

The management of FUTA is yet to issue a statement on the matter.

Until his deaths, Arijesuyo worked at the Guidance and Counselling section of the Students Affairs Department of the University.

He was also a Senior Pastor at Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Glory of God, FUTA Akure.
