He further tabled out his nine point agenda which he promised to implement if elected.

He said, “I have to be grateful to Allah for being here since 2003 consecutively and the institution continues to change overtime.

“I presented to my distinguished colleagues my 9 point agenda.  First starting with the office of the senate president itself.

“Gradually’ we are moving to a situation where we have senators president not senate president. What do you do to correct that? You dismantle the office of the senate president so that it will so much be the office of the individual that is one among equal.

“My colleagues will make a decision on that, but those that have been here for a while know that this office is gradually losing its prestige.

“The powers of the senate or the senator is gradually controlled by the office of the senate president. We now have members of the senate instead of senators,” he said.

Ndume said the budget is sponsored by almost 70 per cent borrowed funds.

He promised that budgets would be pass in three months.

He further promised to collectively work with the senators and move Nigerian to the next level if elected.
