Igbo Youths Warn Okorocha Not To Undermine Ohanaeze Ndigbo

Former governor of Imo State and senator representing Imo North in the National Assembly, Chief Rochas Okorocha, was Tuesday in Enugu warned to stop fueling crisis in Ohanaeze Ndigbo.

The warning was given by the national president of Ohanaeze Youth Council (OYC), Comrade Igboayaka O. Igboayaka, when he addressed newsmen.

Igboayaka, while reminding Senator Okorocha that the major task that should worry every politician from the Southeast “is the emergence of somebody from the region as Nigeria’s president in 2021, “
said Okorocha and other of his types “dabbling in Ohanaeze politics and causing crisis in Alaigbo may bring doubts and suspicion in the minds of Ndigbo and Nigerians ahead of 2023”.

He also acknowledged that Senator Okorocha had tacitly indicated interest to contest the presidency, and advised him to focus on the project.

“Sen Okorocha should not to be distracted in his quest to vie for the number one position in Nigeria come 2023, but should use the remaining time ahead of 2023 to reconcile with all political factors and become an ambassador of peace in Igbo land,” Igboayaka said.

He further stated that it is” unacceptable for Okorocha to be pulling the strings and pushing Mr Chidi Ibe to be distracting the whole Igbo race on his purported election and reckless press releases parading himself as the president general of Ohanaeze Ndigbo. “

He said “The crux of the matter has ended in Prof George Obiozor’s emergence as the president general of Ohanaeze Ndigbo in the election held on 10th January in Owerri; therefore every progressive and reasonable Igbo person should drop their grievances and work with Prof Obiozor for the overall interest of Ndigbo.”

THE WHISTLER reports that another faction of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, with Mr Chidi Ibe as its president general, has filed a suit at an Abuja high court challenging the legality of Ohanaeze Ndigbo led by Prof Obiozor. The faction, registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission, described Prof Obiozor’s Ohanaeze as non-existent because, according to them, ‘it is not registered with the CAC’.
