Ohanaeze Visits Gov Alex Otti, Scores Administration “A”

The apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, has commended Governor Alex Otti of Abia State for his accomplishments so far in office.

The President General of Ohanaeze, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, gave the commendation on Tuesday when he led the executives of the organization on a visit to the Governor’s residence in Isialangwa South LGA.

The Ohanaeze leadership, according to Chief Iwuanyanwu, was desirous of knowing the performance of all elected officials from the South East.

Chief Iwuanyanwu earlier briefed the governor on what Ohanaeze has been doing to strengthen and develop Igbo land.

Speaking to newsmen after the visit, the President General said, ” I have field officers who go about and bring back reports on the performances of the government of every state, I have received excellent reports about the works of His Excellency Dr. Alex Otti and I have also confirmed that these reports are true and the Governor has been classified A in our classification records.

“All I can say here as the leader of Ndi Igbo is congratulations to Dr. Alex Otti and the people of Abia”.

He also told Governor Otti that, though the Ohanaeze Ndigbo had backed Mr. Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s (LP) presidential candidate, in the previous general election, the group had written President Bola Tinubu to assure him of the Igbo support for his government’s efforts to unite and develop Nigeria.

In response, Governor Otti expressed his gratitude to the Ohanaeze leadership for making the time to see him.

He also commended Ohanaeze on the “excellent work” of protecting Ndigbo interests in Nigeria.

Following his court triumph, he informed the Igbo leaders that he was now focused on governance and advised everyone to assist state and federal governments in their efforts to improve Nigeria.
