Insecurity: Troops Kill Eight B’Haram Terrorists, Bandits In Borno, Katsina

Four Boko Haram terrorists have been killed by troops of Operation Lafiya Dole at Sawa village, Nganzai Local Government Area of Borno State, the Defence Headquarters said on Thursday.

Spokesman for the force, John Enenche, disclosed this while giving a general update on the Armed Forces of Nigeria and other security agencies’ operations from 15 – 21 October, 2020.

Enenche said the terrorists were killed on October 16th by the troops during a clearance operation, adding that four AK47 rifles were recovered after the operation.

He said: “Notably, on 16 October 2020, troops of Operation LAFIYA DOLE while on clearance operations encountered Boko Haram/ ISWAP at Sawa village in Nganzai Local Government Area of Borno State. During the encounter, 4 terrorists were neutralised while 4 AK47 rifles were recovered by the troops.”

In a similar vein, Enenche also disclosed that troops of Operation Hadarin Daji, during an operation in the North West zone of the country, killed four bandits in Rawayu village in Kurfi Local Government Area of Katsina State.

He said the bandits were killed on October 15th after they were repelled by troops from attacking the village.

The spokesman, however, said the other bandits escaped with gunshot wounds.

He added: “In one of the feat recorded, troops repelled bandits attack at Rawayu village in Kurfi Local Government Area of Katsina State on 15 October 2020. In the course of the encounter, 4 armed bandits were neutralised while others escaped with gunshot wounds.”
