It’ll Be ‘Foolish’ Of Igbo To Contest 2019 Presidency Under PDP– Utazi

Chukwuka Utazi, the senator representing Enugu North, has said “it will be foolhardy” for any Igbo person to run for 2019 presidency under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) platform.

Utazi, who made this statement in Abuja, advised persons from the Igbo ethnic group against pursuing their presidential bids under the PDP umbrella because of the party’s current “political configuration”.

The lawmaker said the current zoning structure in the PDP cannot allow for an Igbo presidential candidate in the party.

“I am not expecting any Igbo person to contest for president under on the PDP platform in 2019.

“Based on truth and fact on ground, the political configuration of the party will not allow for an Igbo presidency in 2019.

“There is an existing zoning arrangement between the north and the south. It will be foolhardy for the Igbo to contest in the 2019 presidential election.

“I know that the Igbo have bright chances if the north complete their terms,” Utazi said.
