Ivory Coast Sneak Through To Second Round As Morocco Beat Zambia
Morocco earned a 1-0 win over Zambia to advance to the second round of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
The win ensured that host Ivory Coast also made it to the second round as one of the best losers.

Zambia needed just a point to book a place in the next round and to deny Ivory Coast the last best loser’s slot but they couldn’t stop Morocco.
Hakim Ziyech scored the only goal of the encounter in the 37th minute from close range.
The Atlas Lions finished top of Group E with seven points, DR Congo came second on three points, whiile Zambia and Tanzania finished third and fourth respectfully with two points apiece.
Morocco will now face South Africa in the round of 16 on Tuesday, while Ivory Coast will battle it out with Senegal on Monday.

The ties for the second round is now complete with 16 teams battling for a place in the quarter finals.
The second round fixtures kicks off on Saturday with Angola taking on Namibia, and Nigeria will slug it out with Cameroon on Saturday night.
On Sunday, Equatorial Guinea will battle it out with Guinea, while Egypt face DR Congo on the same day.
Cape Verde and Mauritania will face off on Monday and Senegal will clash with Ivory Coast on the same day.
The last matches of the round comes up on Tuesday when Mali takes on Burkina Faso and Morocco battle it out with South Africa.
