JUST IN: Adegboruwa, Kadaria, Others React To Murder Of Sowore’s Brother

Following the disclosure by the publisher of Sahara Reporters and political activist, Omoyele Sowore, that his younger brother, Olajide, was shot and killed by suspected kidnappers in Edo State, notable legal practitioners and journalists have reacted to the development.

Sowore, through his Facebook page on Saturday, claimed that his “immediate younger brother, Olajide Sowore was today shot and killed near Okada in Edo state by reportedly herdsmen /kidnappers on his way from Igbinedion University in Edo sate where he is studying Pharmacy.”

Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa, SAN, commented on the post by extending his condolence to Sowore and those connected to him.

“Please accept my condolences. God will comfort you and the family and ambush all the killers in Jesus name,” Adegboruwa wrote on Sowore’s Facebook post.

Human rights lawyer, Inibehe Effiong, considered the news as a painful one.

“What a sad development. My condolences,” he said.

Media personality, Stephanie Busari
stated that the murder of Sowore’s brother was a terrible news.

“So sorry to hear this terrible news. May your brother rest in peace. I pray for comfort and peace in the coming days and weeks for your family,” she wrote.

“So sorry for your loss. My condolences to you and your family,” activist and founder of Radio Now 95.3 FM, Kadaria wrote.

Sowore, who doubles as an activist, has been championing the #RevolutionNow protest against the federal government.

However, he and his supporters have been met with stiff hands by security agents on several occasions.

His campaign was frowned upon by government leading to his arrest and arraignment in court on treasonable charges.

The case is ongoing while the activist, through public speeches, interviews and social media posts keeps speaking against injustice in the country.
