Killings: Fear Of Buhari Prevents Leaders In Affected Communities From Telling Him Truth – Senator

The immediate past senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani, has suggested that killings, banditry and other vices continue to thrive in parts of the country because leaders in affected communities cannot summon the courage to tell President Muhammadu Buhari the truth.

Senator Sani’s statement came after suspected members of the Islamic State in West Africa Province (ISWAP) invaded three communities in Niger State on Saturday.

THE WHISTLER reported how the insurgents attacked Gurmana, Old Gurmana, and Ashirika communities in Shiroro LGA in the state, killing two persons and leaving several others injured.

Sani said in a tweet on Sunday: “We shouldn’t all blame the President for the escalation of Banditry and kidnappings because the leaders privileged to meet him (Buhari) were afraid of telling him the truth that hurts & preferred to say “Ranka ya dade muna godiya da kokarin da kake yi,wallahi komai dai dai ne,ba matsala””

The senator was apparently referring to a recent visit by Niger State Governor, Abubakar Sani Bello, and some leaders in the state, who visited President Buhari over worsening insecurity in the state.

Buhari had while receiving the Niger leaders said: “We have to be harder on them (bandits). One of the responsibilities of government is to provide security. If we don’t secure the country, we will not be able to manage the economy properly.’’
