Like Saraki’s CoS, Dogara’s Principal Aide Dumps APC

House of Reps Speaker, Yakubu Dogara’s special adviser on special duties, Usman Bawa, has dumped the All Progressives Congress (APC) barely a fortnight after Senate President, Bukola Saraki’s Chief of Staff quit the ruling party.

Recall that Saraki’s CoS, Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, had among the reasons he resigned from the APC, alleged that the party “has grossly under-performed and has forfeited any claim to my loyalty and continued membership.”

Toeing similar line, Mr Bawa said he was dumping the ruling party to enable him to “pursue other course of life”.

His resignation was contained in a letter dated July 14 and addressed to the APC chairman in his Kaduna North Local Government Area.

The letter read in part, “I write to convey my decision to resign as a member of the All Progressive Congress (APC) following consultations with my teaming supporters.

“The decision has become imperative to enable me pursue other course of life. I seize this ‎opportunity to express my appreciation to the executives and members of APC for their support during my stint with the party,” he said.
