Navy Discovers Illegal Warehouse Refining Over 1000 Litres Of Diesel In Bayelsa

The Nigerian Navy on Friday, said it had discovered a warehouse where Illegally refined products estimated to be about 1,000 litres of AGO also known as diesel were stored.

The Navy disclosed via its X handle that the patrol team of the Navy Ship SOROH discovered the product and others on Thursday, in Bayelsa State.

The patrol team also discovered 3500 litres of illegally refined AGO in a wooden boat around Southern Ijaw Local Government Area (LGA) of the state.

On the same day, Forward Operating Base Ibaka had intercepted a boat laden with 3,500 litres of Premium Motor Spirit, also known as petrol around Oron Channel in Akwa-Ibom State, and the “products were handled in accordance with extant directives”, the Navy said.

Forward Operating Base ESCRAVOS discovered and deactivated an Illegal refining site with about 40,000 litres of illegally refined products along Deli Creek in Warri LGA of Delta State on the same Thursday.

These developments under the codename: ‘Operation Delta Sanity’ came barely 24 hours after Navy Ship Pathfinder discovered and deactivated an illegal refining site in Rivers State.

Navy Ship Pathfinder also deactivated 10 makeshift accommodation tents, seven metal storage tanks and six reservoirs at the Okrika general area of the state.
