The Unions had earlier issued a 21-day ultimatum before embarking on the 3 day warning strike.

The Chairman of the Committee of Unions in Niger State owned Tertairy Institutions (CUNOTI), Comrade Baba Haruna, speaking to journalists in Minna yesterday, declared the commencement of the indefinite strike.

Comrade Haruna said the lack of progress in the negotiation with government’s representatives led to the strike.

“All tertiary institutions owned by the state are closing down indefinitely with no exception whatsoever.
