Nigeria’s Lassa Fever Death Now 188

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has reported 188 deaths as casualties of Lassa fever in 2020.

The federal health agency disclosed this in its latest situation report.

According to the NCDC, three new deaths were recorded between March 30 and April 5.

The fatalities as stated in the report were recorded in Ondo, Benue, and Ebonyi.

It also said a total of 12 cases were confirmed in five state(Edo, Ondo, Ebonyi, Bauchi and Sokoto states) in the week under review, a drop compared to the previous week when 19 cases were recorded.

With this new cases the total number of infected persons in the country now stands at 963.
