Nnamdi Kanu: MASSOB Vows To Resist Arrest Of Senator Abaribe

Following calls in some quarters for the arrest of Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe for his inability to produce Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, in court, the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), Wednesday, vowed to resist any arrest of the Abia senator.

Recall that the Shettima-led Arewa Youths Consultative Forum had called for Abaribe’s arrest after the arrest of Senator Ali Ndume for his failure to produce former chairman of the defunct National Pension Task Team, Abdulrasheed Maina, in court. The forum was of the opinion that the case of Ndume was similar to Abaribe.

MASSOB, in a statement issued by its leader, Uchenna Madu, and made available to THE WHISTLER in Abakakili, stated that both cases were not similar. According to the group, Abaribe, as a surety for Kanu, was a collective decision of Ndigbo, and not a personal matter. It added that, “AYCF’s stinking vomit against Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe is an expression of sadistic and tribalistic ethnic group in Nigeria. The northern youths are always a willing tool of destruction in the hands of their primitive leaders.

“Abaribe’s stand as a surety for Nnamdi Kanu was totally different from the one Senator Ali Ndume stood for Maina Abdulrasheed. Maina was a corrupt criminal that shamelessly looted public funds when he was the chairman of the defunct National Pension Task Team. He laundered money meant for aged pensioners. He can never be compared with Nnamdi Kanu of IPOB.

“Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe’s standing as a surety for Nnamdi Kanu was a unanimous decision of Ndigbo; it was not a personal venture. The baseless treasonable and felonious court case against Nnamdi Kanu is closed because the Nigerian government knows it has no evidence against Kanu. Any attempt or arrest on Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe will be resisted by Ndigbo. MASSOB warns Alhaji Yerima Shettima-led AYCF to stop their systematic and calculated plan to blackmail the personality of Enyinnaya Abaribe.”
