Ohanaeze Wants Implementation Of 2014 Confab Report

The spokesman of Ohanaeze Ndigbo worldwide, Chuks Ibegbu, Saturday, said unless Nigeria is restructured and the 2014 confab reports implemented, the myriads of challenges facing the country would not end. According to him, the confab report contained more than 600 articles that addressed all the challenges facing the country.

Ibegbu, in a statement made available to THE WHISTLER in Enugu, said, “As long as some vested interests are afraid of its implementation, we shall be going round and round the circle with no solution to our woes. The presidential system is too expensive, and we should go back to the parliamentary system.”

In another development, the National Forum of Ex-Councillors, Enugu State chapter, comprising former councillors who served in Enugu State from 2007 to 2015, have commended Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for the way he handled the recent #EndSARS protests, which in turn had resulted in the return of normalcy to the state.

The counicllor, through their chairman, Chidiebere T. Okoh, and secretary, Barr Ike Owoh, appreciated the governor for ‘his ingenuity, wisdom and prompt intervention in handling the youths who were protesting against the SARS across Nigeria’.

The ex-councillors, who plan a solidarity visit in honour of the governor soon, said they were also impressed with the manner government agencies were mobilized to clean up the debris and the litters around the state, and called on well-meaning people to shun trouble-makers and rally behind the governor to make the state the pride of the nation.
