Osun Workers Get Free Condoms For Valentine Celebration

The Ministry of Health in Osun State on Wednesday distributed condoms to workers in the state to mark the 2024 Valentine’s Day celebration.

The event which was organised by the Osun State Civil Service Union was held at Osun State Government Secretariat, Abere.

The workers who attended the event were visibly excited to receive the free condoms.

Addressing newsmen at the event, the coordinator of the state’s family planning programme, Ololade Abatan, said, “We have to protect ourselves from sexually transmitted diseases, that is why we are distributing condoms to males and females at this event.

“We are also distributing it as part of strategies to prevent sexually transmitted diseases and unwanted pregnancies.”

At the event, Governor Ademola Adeleke was represented by the Head of Service, Ayanleye Aina, who preached love and forgiveness.

Valentine’s Day, also called Saint Valentine’s Day or the Feast of Saint Valentine, is marked annually on February 14th as a secular celebration of romance and love in many regions of the world.
