Oyo Set To Recruit 3,000 Into Amotekun

The Oyo state Security Network has said it is ready to recruit 3000 persons into the security outfit to improve the security situation in the state.

The Chairman of the security outfit, Col Kunle Togun (retd) who said this on Wednesday stated that interested applicants should apply online.

Togun who is a former Director, Directorate of Military Intelligence stated that the state had been divided into five zones to ensure effective mobilisation and training of its men.

He said hunters; vigilante groups and agbekoya members who reside in various communities and whose age ranges between 18 and 60 would be recruited into the outfit.

He gave an assurance that when fully operational,the people of the state would be able to go to sleep with their two eyes closed.

He described the situation in recent past when farmers could no longer go to their farms as a result of the invasion by Fulani herdsmen as unacceptable.

Togun said everything possible would be done to ensure that Oyo state becomes more peaceful and crime free.
