Furthermore, a reconciliation Committee was constituted headed by the Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu to reconcile only PDP members in the South West ahead of the National Convention.

Nnorom revealed that Senator Kashamu Buruji representing Ijebu Labo Constituency of Ogun State in the 8th National Assembly, who was also in the meeting, declared his unalloyed loyalty and support to the PDP National Caretaker Committee.

Other invited stakeholders include: former governors, former ministers, former national officers, etc.

Recall that the party could not elect a new set of leaders in its convention which held in May due to various court orders. Instead, the convention appointed a caretaker committee headed by a former governor of Kaduna state, Ahmed Makarfi.

However, embattled national chairman of the party, Ali Sheriff, has insisted that he remained the chairman of the party.
