Police Arrest Two Armed Robbery Suspects In Lagos
Two suspected armed robbers have been arrested by operatives of the Lagos State Police Command following a swift response to a distress call in the Ikeja area of the state.
The suspects, identified as Segun Adeyemi, 32, and Abayomi Ajayi, 24, were apprehended on September 29, around 7:15 p.m., while allegedly dispossessing unsuspecting members of the public of their valuables in the Shoprite Ikeja and Maryland axis.
They are believed to be members of a three-man gang that operated using a motorcycle.
According to a statement on Thursday by the Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Adebisi, the gang had reportedly come from Mushin to carry out a series of armed robberies in Ikeja before the police intervened.
“On 29th September, 2025, at about 1915 hrs, the operatives received a distress call that the vicious gang was attacking people in the area.
“The police operatives acted promptly; two (2) of the suspects were arrested, while the third escaped. The operational motorcycle used by the gang was recovered as an exhibit.
