Police Arrest Two Suspected Kidnappers On Wanted List In Adamawa

The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested two suspected kidnappers, who have been on the command’s wanted list.

According to a press statement by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Suleiman Nguroje made available to THE WHISTLER, the suspects were arrested in Ngurore, Yola South Local Government Area (LGA).

Nguroje gave the names of the suspects as: Ahmed Muhammad, 37 year-old, a resident of Song Local Government area and Muhammed Haruna, 25 Years, resident of Jambutu, Yola North L.G.A

He said after evading arrest for some time, the duo were finally arrested on 10th March 2024 in their hideout when the police got a tip off about their location.

Giving reasons on why the two suspects had been on the command’s wanted list, the PPRO said they had allegedly kidnapped one Saddam Ahmadu from Belel in Maiha L.G.A and Buba Adamu of Shani L.G.A in Borno State.

Nguroje the suspected kidnappers allegedly collected the total sum of N4.7m from the relatives of the victims.

“Interestingly, one AK-47 assault rifle with 25 rounds of live ammunition were recovered from the suspects.

“The Commissioner of Police (CP) Dankombo Morris Psc (+), while expressing happiness, commended the Commander, Crack Squad and the hunters for the community policing strategy adopted, leading to the successes recorded, and urged them to sustain the tempo.

“The CP assured of diligent investigation and prosecution of the suspects,” Nguroje highlighted.
