A Rivers State High Court sitting in Port Harcourt has fixed January 19, 2026, for judgment in the murder trial of four individuals linked to the killing of Pharmacist Muenalo Sunday in Zaakpo community, Khana Local Government Area of the state.
The trial judge, Justice Kingsley-Chukwu, fixed the judgment date after parties argued and adopted their final written addresses.
The four suspects, Confidence Kirinee (popularly called General Illa), Precious Mona, Loveday Legah, and Soniabari Sagha, are standing trial on charges of alleged kidnapping and murder of Muenalo Sunday.
According to reports, the suspects allegedly kidnapped Sunday on March 5, 2019, chopped off his head, manhood, and intestine, and later dumped the remains inside a pit while the head was taken to their shrine in a bush in a neighbouring community.
The prosecution had presented several witnesses and evidence to prove the guilt of the accused persons, while the defense team had also presented their case.

After the closure of the case, both parties filed their final written addresses, which were adopted on Tuesday, with the prosecution urging the court to convict the accused persons, while the defense team urged the court to acquit them.
Justice Kingsley-Chukwu, after listening to the arguments, fixed January 19, 2026, for judgment.
The case has generated widespread attention and outrage in the community, with many calling for justice for the slain pharmacist.
The Rivers State Government had earlier arraigned the suspects on charges of murder, kidnapping, and conspiracy, and they have been remanded in custody pending the outcome of the trial.
