Six Things Buhari, INEC Must Do Before I Concede Defeat -Atiku

Atiku Abubakar, former presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has presented a list of six things he wants president Muhammadu Buhari to do following the declaration of results from the just concluded presidential election by INEC.

According to sources close to the meeting, Atiku’s demands included the unfreezing of bank accounts belonging to opposition politicians in the country and the demilitarisation of subsequent elections in the country.

The PDP candidate and his team are also demanding that accreditation of voters should take place before voting in subsequent elections and that there should be no deployment of the military in subsequent elections.

Atiku is also demanding that INEC should open its back end server to all participating parties and the immediate release of all politicians detained illegally by FG.

A source privy to the meeting revealed that the former Vice President warmed that tension is already building up in the country, and that the February 23 election was the worst in the country since the return of democratic rule Nigeria.

According to Atiku, the election was marked by brazen rigging with no consideration for the will of the people.

Atiku and his team also listed the deployment of the military in contravention of the constitution and in breach of Supreme Court judgement, malpractices between the INEC officers, the ruling party and the military which undermined the votes/voters of the PDP, collaboration between INEC and FG to undermine the sanctity of the votes of the people as some of the issues they have with the presidential election.

The meeting also had Cardinal John Onaiyekan. Bishop Matthew Kukah and Rev Father Atta Barkindo making up the NPC team.
