INEC To Deploy 36, 335 Staff For FCT, Rivers Elections

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), will deploy a total of 36, 335 permanent and ad-hoc staff for the conduct of elections in 6 Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and the Rivers State rerun polls.
According to an INEC bulletin released on Wednesday, 9,933 of the staff would conduct the FCT elections, while 26,402 staff would conduct the elections in Rivers State.
The staff are made up of Assistant Presiding Officers (APOs), Presiding Officers (POs), Supervising Presiding Officers (SPOs); Collation Officers (COs); and Returning Officers (ROs).

The bulletin further indicated that a total of 24, 297 APOs, 33948 POs, 506 SPOs, 403 COs, and 43 ROs would conduct the elections, while 1,435 would act as Reserves.
A total of 1,020,799 registered voters, according to the INEC bulletin, would vote in six (6) Area Councils.
The elections are scheduled to hold on March 19.
