Three Friends Perish In Osun Accident

No fewer than three people were crushed to death by a commercial truck driver along Ikirun/Osogbo Expressway, Osun State, on Wednesday.

THE WHISTLER gathered that the accident occurred around 5:35PM when the driver of the commercial truck with registration number ZUR36XB lost control of the wheel due to excessive speeding.

The accident which occurred around a steel company in Ikirun killed three occupants of the Lexus private car with registration number SMK 17 JK.

The spokesperson of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Osun State Command, Agnes Ohungbemi, confirmed the incident on Wednesday.

“Five people were involved in the accident. The three people who were inside the private car were killed instantly. One of the victims was injured and taken to hospital for treatment while the corpse have been deposited at the morgue.

“Motorists should be warned to desist from excessive speed and route violation. The two vehicles involved were towed by police to the station.”

Also speaking on the unfortunate incident, the spokesperson of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps(NSCDC), Osun State Command, Kehinde Adeleke, said the truck driver fled the scene of the accident.
