VIDEO: Boat Conveying INEC Officials, Materials Capsizes In Ondo

Some officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) deployed to conduct elections in Ondo State have escaped death after a boat conveying them to a riverine area capsized on Saturday Morning.

It was gathered that the incident occurred in the Ilaje area of Ondo State while the INEC officials and some election observers were going to their area of assignment.

According to Akure-based radio station, Adaba 88.9 FM, the incident was confirmed by the INEC public relations officer in Ondo State. No life was lost.

Meanwhile, 17 political parties are scheduled to partake in today’s governorship election in Ondo State.

The election is expected to take place in the 18 local government areas of the state.

Although 17 political parties are fielding candidates in the election, analysts have predicted that the contest would mainly be between three aspirants.

They are incumbent Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Eyitayo Jegede of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the state’s Deputy Governor, Agboola Ajayi, who is running on the platform of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP).
