Video: How Barcelona, Argentina National Team Celebrated Messi’s Birthday

Argentina legend Lionel Messi clocked 34 on Thursday marking seventeen years of a successful career at Barcelona FC.

Messi who was born on June 24, 1987, in Rosario, Argentina was celebrated by his teammates at the national team in grand style.

The national team currently at the Copa America championship shared a video seen by THE WHISTLER.

Barcelona also shared an animated video of him in a tweet.

“Not Human. #Messi34,” the tweet reads.

Messi,34, the all-time scorer of Barcelona made his competitive debut aged 17 in October 2004, while he made senior team debut for Argentina in August 2005.

Messi became the youngest Argentine to play and score in a FIFA World Cup in 2006.

The Argentine is the only player with six Ballon d’Or awards.

Messi who scored his first goal for Barcelona at 17, by 2017 held a record of most goals in a calendar year with 91.

He is the only player in history to score 40 plus club goals in 10 consecutive seasons.

So far, the highly venerated Argentine who is described by some as the best footballer of all time has scored a total of 672 goals in 778 appearances at Barcelona.

For Argentina, he has 73 goals making him his country’s all time scorer.
